Celebrity Watch: Dream Boys’ Platini

Nemeye Platini, simply known by his stage name of “Platini” is a member of the local duet, Dream Boys.  Before meeting his teammate TMC in 2009, Platini had been involved with the 2006 group “Hot Side” that nurtured the likes of Rafiki, MC Fab, Kamichi and Clovis. He was hardly mentioned, since he was a minor singing backstage.

Nemeye Platini, simply known by his stage name of "Platini” is a member of the local duet, Dream Boys.

Before meeting his teammate TMC in 2009, Platini had been involved with the 2006 group "Hot Side” that nurtured the likes of Rafiki, MC Fab, Kamichi and Clovis. He was hardly mentioned, since he was a minor singing backstage.

He tried out a solo career two years later, releasing his debut song, which was only played in the studio where it was produced.

The 22-year-old, also a final-year Journalism student at the National University of Rwanda, linked up with TMC and released, ‘Wanizingua’ a Bongo single that marked their first taste of success.

They managed to beat their fierce competitor group, "Urban Boys” to win the 2010 "Group of the year” Salax Award. They have already released two albums, his latest being "Dufitanye Isano” (We have a bond) of November 18, 2011.

Platini is composed and likes playing soccer when he is not in the studio. He says that he is single and is destined to remain a public figure even after leaving music.

He along with TMC, focus on recording Dream Boys’ third album after an impressive two-album launch in the year, 2011.
