Kigali-Rwamgana-Kicuriko (85km)

THIS year’s Tour of Rwanda paced off yesterday with America’s Team Type 1 dominating the prologue race.

56 riders took part in the 4km race that was won by Kiel Reijnen of Team Type 1 after clocking 4 minutes and 22 seconds.

Joseph Rosskopf and Tyler Magner from the American team came in second and third place respectively.

Adrien Niyonshuti, who is riding for his club MTN Qhubeka finished 4th after clocking 4 minutes and 36 seconds.

The 877km race has attracted ten teams.

They include Tanzania Ethiopia, Karisimbi, Akagera, Team Type 1 of USA, Reine Blanche from France, Belgium’s Flanders Avia, Kenya, Tanzania and MTN Qhubeka of South Africa.

Stage two will see riders covering a diatnce of 85km from Kigali to Rwamagana.
