AMAVUBI coach Milutin Micho has urged his strikers to make the most of their places in the team. The Serbian’s comments come after Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over Eritrea at Amahoro Stadium. While the home fans were delighted by the fact that it was a convincing victory for the wasps, Micho was irate by the fact that the strikers wasted so many scoring chances.

"We wasted so many chances and we cannot afford to do that against stronger opponents because we shall be punished,” he pointed out.

"The score line could have been much bigger had we put away our chances.”

"No one is guaranteed a number on the team so it’s up to the players to prove their worth in the side.”

In the second leg, Meddie Kagere and Elias Uzamukunda a.k.a Baby, who scored Rwanda’s equalizer in the first leg, squandered several chances.

Following Rwanda’s 4-2 aggregates victory over Eritrea, the team progressed to Group H which also has Algeria, Benin and Mali. Rwanda will begin their qualifying campaign in June with an away clash against Algeria.
