FOLLOWING their progress to the group stage, Amavubi will start their 2014 Fifa World Cup qualification campaign away to Algeria on the weekend of June 1-3, 2012. The team will then host Benin, seven days later in Kigali. The final first round qualifier, against Mali, is scheduled for May, 2013.

Rwanda qualified for the group stages after a comprehensive 3-1 return leg victory over Eritrea three days ago. Olivier Karekezi, Jean Claude Iranzi and Bokota Labama scored the goals to give new Amavubi coach Milutin Micho something to smile about ahead of the upcoming Tusker Challenge Cup in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
AS Cannes striker Elias Uzamukunda a.k.a Baby had score Amavubi’s away goal in the first leg which was held in Asmara last Friday.
