FIVE-time Sulfo league champions Kigali Cricket Club are back in contention for the title after yesterday’s five-wicket victory over reigning champions Indorwa at Kicukiro Cricket Oval.

Mohammad Shazad drew on all his experience to hand KCC their first victory in the round-robin stage.

After a patient 20 from Hassan Zeshan, Shazad blasted a quick-fire 24 not out as KCC chased down Indorwa’s paltry score of 119.

Mihir Bhat top scored for Indorwa in the first innings with 32runs after good work from Asif Moulana and Mehboob Jasat who picked five wickets between themselves.

Victory left KCC on level points with second-placed Impala Titans but the latter enjoy a superior net run-rate.

Right Guards top the table with four points following back to back victories over Indorwa and Titans, who have to win their final match to qualify for the final.
