Editor,

ALLOW me to voice my reaction to the response offered by Lantos Foundation regarding the petitions from genocide survivors protesting the decision to give the 2011 Lantos Human Rights and Justice Prize to Paul Rusesbagina.

Katrina Lantos Swett, the president of The Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice, noted that "the protest staged is only the latest attempt to smear the good name of this year’s Lantos Prize recipient, Paul Rusesabagina.”

I find such a reaction very insulting and irresponsible especially coming from an organisation that is supposed to defend the same rights to justice and cannot accord the justices to the victims of the 1994 genocide.

It is also irresponsible to compare Rusesabagina to renowned heroes like His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel, whose achievements are clear. Rusesabagina is just an impostor.
