The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), received a US$680,000 donation from the German government to buy food for about 54,000 Congolese refugee’s living in Rwanda.

This news comes on the backdrop of refugees complaints about the reduction of their monthly ration of maize flour from 11 to seven kilos per person per month.

It is difficult to survive on seven kilos of maize per person per month which would ideally be consumed in a week.

The German government has certainly demonstrated its concern about the plight of the refugees after much outcry.  This should be a signal for other well-wishers to come on board to the rescue of the refugees.
