Rwanda is among three countries that will be participating for the first time at the Victoria Challenge Cricket Championship in Kampala, Uganda, from April 16 to 23.

The regional women cricket competition, which will be played at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, will see Rwanda, Tanzania and the United Arab Emirates as the new participating teams joining Kenya and host nation Uganda.

The Rwandan female team is currently competing in the T20 Invitational tournament in Lagos, Nigeria, in which they are the defending champions. They will move straight to Uganda upon their return.

Rwanda is currently among the best cricket nations in Africa as they reached the Super Six of the U19 Women's world cup in South Africa in January 2023.
