MUHANGA- Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) has embarked on dramatisation to foster unity among residents of Mushishiro in Muhanga District.

A play titled ‘Bangamwabo’ sponsored by the European Commission (EC) has already been performed in Muhanga and Ruhango districts.

"We need such plays because it’s important in educating residents as they strive for unity and reconciliation. Though entertaining, there are many lessons left for reflection on working together as one people,” Sixte Mungarakarama, the leader of Mushishiro, said.

He appealed to the presenters to distribute the plays in video format and air them on media outlets such as television and radio so as to reach a wider audience.

Monique Mukamutali, a YWCA official, said the play has attracted attention since its launch in Muhanga District in August adding that it would be performed countrywide.

"It is very encouraging when people turn up in large numbers since our goal is to show the play to many communities so that residents respond to the most important aspect of unity, she said.

Residents commented that the drama features talented actors who implant the unity message among residents.
