THE national golf team departs for Arusha, Tanzania, this afternoon, to take part in the East Africa Golf Challenge. The four-day event, which tees off tomorrow, will be held at the Gymkhana Golf Course.

Rwanda struggled in last year’s edition, finishing third behind champions Uganda and runners-up Kenya and Tanzania, but team captain Joseph Semwaga expects a better display this time round.

"The lads have trained well and I’m sure we will put in a better performance than last year’s,” he said.

The team also includes Leonard Nkurunziza, Jules Dusabe, Augustine Habineza, Patrick Uwumukiza, Francois Habimana, Aphrodis Nyirinkwaya, Emmanuel Rutayisire and the experienced Davis Kashaka.
