Amavubi coach, Milutin Sredejovic Micho.

Editor,

The appointment of Milutin Sredejovic Micho as the new head coach of the Amavubi senior side is great news. As he takes up his new responsibilities, I need to offer him a few home truths.

Our national side has for the last six or more years been a big disappointment. In fact since 2004 when Amavubi qualified for the African Cup of Nations in Tunisia, they’ve not offered fans anything to jubilate about.

Micho should understand that just like former Amavubi coach Silas Tetteh, he is considered a good coach and since Tetteh didn’t live up to expectations, Mico should show that he is different from Tetteh by getting results.

Rwandans have always been ready to support the Amavubi stars but are always let down by the poor performance the national side puts up. Actually, if Micho guides the National team past Eritrea, he will have begun his tenure on a sound note, thus boosting the morale of the fans who only remember Ratomir Dujkovic as the only coach who has ever guided the national team to the African Cup of Nations-CAN.

FERWAFA should provide the best support to the new tactician since most of the foreign coaches have no clue of the players they handle.
