Silverbacks in confident mood ahead of Safaricom 7s

THE Silverbacks have promised to put in a good display in the prestigious Safaricom 7s which kicks off this Saturday in Nairobi, Kenya. The youthful team finished third in the just ended Nile 7s (Uganda) and will be looking to build onto that performance at the two-day event. Silverbacks coach Joseph Bugabo will count on Nile 7s top scorer Vincent Kamali for inspiration.

THE Silverbacks have promised to put in a good display in the prestigious Safaricom 7s which kicks off this Saturday in Nairobi, Kenya.

The youthful team finished third in the just ended Nile 7s (Uganda) and will be looking to build onto that performance at the two-day event. Silverbacks coach Joseph Bugabo will count on Nile 7s top scorer Vincent Kamali for inspiration.

The fast forward put his speed to good use as he scored four tries in Uganda and Bugabo expects more from him this weekend.
"He is a great lad to have in the side. He has great experience and the hunger to win trophies,” Bugabo was quoted as saying.

Other players Bugabo is counting on are Silverbacks captain Benjamin Makombe, Moise Habumugisha, Ivan Makmot and Allan Amin Otim.

Other teams in contention include hosts Kenya, Emerging Boks, Bristol, Samurai, Spain, Auckland, Belmont Shore, Uganda,   Zimbabwe, British Army, Grenoble, Tanzania, Zambia, Samoa and Shujaa.
