Inyamibwa cultural dance troupe that is made up of students from the National University of Rwanda - NUR, returned today, from Nairobi, Kenya where they participated at the annual Kenyatta University Cultural Week. During the festival, Inyamibwa showcased Rwanda’s unique cultural acts clad in beautiful cultural attire.
This year’s festival marked 20-years of cultural diversity and talent explosion. The event featured solo performances, martial arts, theatre, among others.
Inyamibwa was founded by Association des Etudiants et Elèves Rescapés du Genocide – AERG, on October 20, 1996, by the survivors of the 1994 Rwanda genocide against the Tutsi, studying from the National University of Rwanda.
The troupe consists of professional ‘Intore’, ‘Amahamba’, and ‘Imishayayo’ dancers.
