THE national men’s rugby team (the silverbacks) is now certain of competing in the prestigious Safaricom 7s after Kampala coach’s offer to ferry them to and from Nairobi, the tournament venue. “We were not sure of taking part in the tournament because of the costly travelling costs (Rwf750, 000) but Kampala Coach has simplified everything for us and we are so grateful,” an excited Alex Araire, the vice president of the national rugby federation said.

Kampala coach also ferried the team for last year’s edition.
Silverbacks, who are fresh from defending the CAR 15s title, are currently training at Rugunga grounds.
Hamilton Raiders, Blues, Bristol, Zimbabwe, Ponsonby,Samurai, Namibia, Grenoble, Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania, Shujaa, Emerging boks and Argentina are some of the other teams who will take part in the 16th edition which is slated to run from November 4-6 at Rfuea grounds.
