Race heats up in SFB beauty pageant

THE third edition of Miss School of Finance and Banking (SFB), beauty pageantry gets underway at the institution’s auditorium November 5.A total of 10 contestants who are undergoing drills will stroll at the podium to display their talents before students and other dignitaries next Saturday.

THE third edition of Miss School of Finance and Banking (SFB), beauty pageantry gets underway at the institution’s auditorium November 5.

A total of 10 contestants who are undergoing drills will stroll at the podium to display their talents before students and other dignitaries next Saturday.

The event that is accompanied a hefty prize fund package is set to become the most lucrative of all such events since 2008.

Going by the enormity of the prize packages, the event is expected to draw a huge number of fans.

Local music artistes will entertain guests and students as well. The event will start at 2 p.m, with entrance fees ranging between Rwf2000 and Rwf5000 in the VIP section.

SFB Rector Dr Reid Whitlock and the organisers of the event have assured students and the public that the judges will adhere to the rules and regulations in adjudicate the event.

Dr. Whitlock also noted through their showcase of talent, culture, beauty, and elegance, Miss SFB pageant promotes leadership, personal growth, cultural unity, and team spirit.

"I have no problem encouraging any event that portrays our school positively and promotes the leadership and culture. I will continue to promote the beauty pageant at SFB even if other universities stop it,” Dr. Whitlock said.

The Miss SFB beauty pageant is organised by School of Finance and Banking Students’ Association (SFBAS), in partnership with the institute’s administration.
