APR have a goalkeeping crisis ahead of Sunday’s Primus League game against Mukura at Kigali Regional Stadium.

The league champions’ first-choice goalkeeper Jean Luc Ndayishimiye a.k.a Bakame is still sidelined because of a calf injury while his deputy Jean Claude Ndoli is suspended for the weekend fixture.

This has left the army side with just Ramadhan Nkuzingoma available for the Mukura game.

Ndoli’s suspension is a real blow for APR coach Ernie Brandts as Nkuzingoma is yet to make an appearance for the club this season.

"We have a problem with the goalkeepers,” admitted Brandts. "We don’t know if Bakame will be able to play on Sunday. I will talk more with our goalkeeping coach (Ibrahim Mugisha) and see how things evolve in the next few days.”

APR, who were lucky to snatch a point in Sunday’s 2-all draw against arch rivals Rayon Sport, top the league table with 13 points thanks to their superior goal difference over Etincelles.

Police, who had to dig deep for their 1-0 victory over Nyanza, are in third place with 11 points while Rayon follows in fourth position with 10 points.

Etincelles striker Sylva Ohaya tops the scoring charts with five goals while Police’s Meddie Kagere and APR captain Olivier Karekezi follow closely with four goals each.
