Editor,

The Kenyan armed forces incursion into Somalia to root out Al-Shabaab militants in South-East border with Kenya is a welcome move.

However, following the invasion, Al-Shabaab has decided to take the war back to Kenya, a tactic that should not in any way divert Kenya’s focus.

All African leaders ought to come together to fight against the al shabaab threat. The grenade attack on a nightclub in the centre of the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, which injured 12 people, is simply the kicks of a dying horse.

You cannot win any war by killing innocent civilians. Come on Kenya! Don’t ever think of withdrawing your troops. Already, the Kenyan offensive has forced many Shabab fighters and commanders into hiding.

I think if all African troops work together, we can indisputably end the Al- Shabab menace, so that our brothers and sisters in Somalia enjoy total peace.
