I’m reminded that I’m blessed

It is in our human nature that we spend a lot of time complaining no matter what else goes on in our lives. We have the gift of life however; we always seem to forget that only a few people in this world can be grateful for what they have and what they are. Thinking of this reminds me of an event I recently attended where my classmates and I were visiting patients at C.H.U.K . It is a big public hospital and we had decided to visit children that day. It is an awful thing to see little children hurting; to see them struggle so much to breath, talk, eat and walk

It is an awful thing to see little children hurting; to see them struggle so much to breath, talk, eat and walk.

These are things we all take for granted. Who thinks about the value of these things? Some of the children have become used to pain at such an early age. They are little children but they cannot even cry because their pain is beyond tears.

We left the hospital but the tormented scenes stayed in my mind because I know that by now, some children might have passed away.

Day after day I realise that I must be grateful. The fact that I had the chance to enjoy my childhood and the chance to enjoy my life yet, many children have lost their innocence in the drama of life. I know they don’t deserve it no matter what else goes on. For this reason, I am reminded that I am blessed.
