Swimmers set for regional championship

RWANDA will field a ten-man team in next week’s East and Central Africa Swimming Championships in Uganda.According to the local swimming federation president Samuel Kinimba, the team includes Michelle Umurungi (Green hills academy), Axel Songa (Cercle sportif de Kigali), Shantilal Mehboon (Ape Rugunga), Justin Nyirimana (Riviera high school), Sulvain Michel Akagah (Antoine de St. Exupery), Whitney Kayitesi (Town swimming club), Mireille Ujeneza (Vision Jeunesse nouvelle de Rubavu), Calvin Cyusa (Green hills academy) and Patrick Hirwa (Ririma young stars of Bugesera).

RWANDA will field a ten-man team in next week’s East and Central Africa Swimming Championships in Uganda.

According to the local swimming federation president Samuel Kinimba, the team includes Michelle Umurungi (Green hills academy), Axel Songa (Cercle sportif de Kigali), Shantilal Mehboon (Ape Rugunga), Justin Nyirimana (Riviera high school), Sulvain Michel Akagah (Antoine de St. Exupery), Whitney Kayitesi (Town swimming club), Mireille Ujeneza (Vision Jeunesse nouvelle de Rubavu), Calvin Cyusa (Green hills academy) and Patrick Hirwa (Ririma young stars of Bugesera).

The championship which runs from October 22-23 will also attract Burundi, Zambia, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Kenya.

The team is already working with Coach Ladou Twagirayezu.
