Editor,

The government set sugar prices but some traders have continued to defraud consumers by illegitimately hiking the cost of sugar. They do because some of the customers are unaware of the set sugar prices.

For members of public who are still unaware, the Government fixed sugar prices at Rwf800 per kilogramme. However, in some shops, the commodity is still selling at Rwf1,000 or Rwf1,200 a kilogramme. It’s therefore important that authorities take stern action against such rogue traders.
