It is a rainy season and there have been reports of residents being displaced by heavy downpour from various parts of the country.

Recently, about 29 houses in Gatsibo District were destroyed by heavy rains. During the same week, more than 50 families in Rubavu District were left homeless after their houses were washed away by rains.

There is concern that as rains intensify, many more people can be affected. However, it appears that there is no apparent arrangement from the Ministry of Disaster Preparedness to handle the crisis.
