SC Kiyovu coach Baptiste Kayiranga, who is on the committee of experts that was tasked by Ferwafa to draw criterions for appointing the next Amavubi coach has tipped his former boss for the role.

Talking to Times Sport yesterday, the former Amavubi assistant coach said Ratomir Dujkovic’s previous heroics with Rwanda and Ghana put him in the front seat.

"First of all, he is conversant with local football, having worked in the country for many years. He also has a rich CV that among others includes taking Rwanda to the Nations Cup in 2004 and Ghana to the 2006 Fifa World Cup.”

The local football governing body in conjunction with the Sports Ministry recently instituted a committee of experts to draw up criterions for choosing the next coach.

Others on the committee include Aloys Kanamugire, U-20 coach Richard Tardy, former Amavubi assistant coach Antoine Rutsindura, Eugene Rukundo and Ferwafa vice president Raoul Gisanura.

Some of the conditions for the job include a professional coaching license (license A), experience of coaching in Africa, proven track record of winning trophies or guiding a team to a major tournament, someone conversant in English or French, capable of marketing local players to foreign clubs and should have a broad vision for local football, especially the national team.

The new Amavubi coach will be named next week.
