Editor,

An American human rights organisation, Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission, is, next month, set to recognise Paul Rusesabagina for helping Rwandans during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.

Rusesabagina is not the right person to get this award. He charged a lot for money from victims before they could be allowed to enter the hotel. Is Rusesabagina humanitarian at all?

This is not only an unbelievable act, but a travesty to all Rwandans especially when the American organization insists on awarding Rusesabagina after having been alerted on his crimes and links to terrorist group, FDLR.

His opportunistic political agenda is not only complicity to the continuation of Genocide, but also denial of the Genocide against the Tutsi which, is the last step of genocide.

The award is a betrayal to humanity.
