RWANDA’s chances of fielding a beach volleyball team at next year’s London Olympic Games are over after yesterday’s defeat against Morocco in the qualifiers.

Following Wednesday’s defeat against Algeria, Rwanda had to win to stay in contention but it was not to be as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against the ruthless Moroccans.

Rwanda had fielded two teams; Pierre Marshal Kwizera and Jean Luc Mbonyuwontuma and the pair of Alexis Nkuranga and Guillaume Irakarama, who came in as a replacement for Flavien Ndamukunda and Leo Fidele Mutesi who are serving a six-month ban due to indiscipline.
