APR registered their second victory at this year’s Zone 5 Club Championship after edging Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) 71-67 in overtime.
Playing in front of a capacity crowd at Dar-es-salaam’s Main Gym, the teams finished at 60-all in normal time but brilliant individual performances from shooting guard Deo Nkurikiyinka and Kami Kabangu (forward) helped the indomitable lions to the finish line.
"The win puts us in a good position ahead of Thursday’s game against Savio,” the contented APR coach Cliff Owour, said.In their opening match on Monday, APR outclassed Tanzania’s Vijana 83-54.
