Kayitesi crowned Miss KHI 2011

Sandra Kayitesi was crowned Miss Kigali Health Institute –KHI, during the Miss KHI 2011 beauty pageant held at KHI’s main Hall in Kigali, on Sunday night.Kayitesi, 22, was crowned after the judges all agreed that she was the fairest of them all and with the best brains to represent the Kigali Health Institute. She won a cash prize of Rwf300.000, among other exclusive prizes.

Sandra Kayitesi was crowned Miss Kigali Health Institute –KHI, during the Miss KHI 2011 beauty pageant held at KHI’s main Hall in Kigali, on Sunday night.

Kayitesi, 22, was crowned after the judges all agreed that she was the fairest of them all and with the best brains to represent the Kigali Health Institute. She won a cash prize of Rwf300.000, among other exclusive prizes.

Marie Paul Kamariza and Adeline Gapasi Uwamahoro emerged as first and second runners-up, respectively.

Upon the announcement, Kayitesi, was full of disbelief and could not hide her excitement.

The third year student in physiotherapy, Kayitesi, told The New Times that her strategy to win the beauty pageant was to maintain the tone of her voice during the ‘Question and Answer’ section and, not to panic while answering the questions.

Angel Uwase was crowned Miss Photogenic, while Lucie Uwimana merged as Miss Popularity.

The Ministry of Health has rolled out a programme to use the beauty queens in several of its health campaigns, such as family planning, nutrition and the campaign against HIV/AIDS.
