Central defender Jordan Adeoti and midfielder Sessi d'Almeida will not feature their match against Amavubi.

Central defender Jordan Adeoti and midfielder Sessi D&039;Almeida will not play Benin’s second leg clash with Amavubi of Rwanda in Kigali.

Rwanda host the Cheetahs at Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday, March 29, in match day four of the 2023 AFCON Group L qualifiers.

Adeoti and D’Almeida played an integral part in Benin’s 1-1 draw with Rwanda at the Stade de l'Amitie in Cotonou last week but they are not part of the squad that arrived in Kigali on Monday night ahead of Wednesday’s clash.

The duo returned to France after they recalled by their respective clubs Laval and FC Pau, both in French Lihue 2 to prepare for their upcoming weekend fixtures.

FC Pau will face Le Havre in a crucial Ligue 2 game on Saturday April 1 and they badly need D'Almeida to train for that game whereas FC Laval who are just above the relegation zone want Adeoti for their encounter with Metz on the same day.

"I'm just sad and frustrated not to be able to defend the colors of my country, I don't understand how a match planned for months on a certain date could end up on a date outside FIFA date," disgruntled Adeoti stated as he departed for France.

Benin are bottom of Group L table with one point collected from their last three games while Rwanda, who played three away games in a row, sit third with two points.
