GISAGARA – As part of the ongoing efforts to help vulnerable households to reside in decent houses, Mugombwa Sector authorities, Monday, donated over 900 iron sheets and nails to 58 families.

The beneficiaries were selected among the families formerly living in grass-thatched houses, commonly known as Nyakatsi.

"I have endured rain under a thatched house for long. I could hardly sleep as I had to shift my bed every time it rained. Today, a new era has started,” said an ecstatic Innocent Banzubaze of Nyarusange Village.

Another recipient, Claudine Nihoruzagwa, a widow said: "I could not afford to buy these materials on my own. But fortunately, I have received them. I am really happy.”

According to Mugombwa Sector leaders, the beneficiaries were identified after meetings with the local community.
