Editor,

I was happy read in The New Times that the news that National Posts Office (NPO) will venture into electronic money transfer to cope with the growing competition in the postal and courier industry.

This provides a new lease of life to the post office which was choking under increasing competition brought about by emerging courier companies and the emergence of technology where electronic mails are the order of the day.

This will ensure that the post office rejuvenates itself.

With internet taking away mailing service from the post office, I thought it was timely for it to venture into other more lucrative businesses to stay competitive.
