There is more on offer at Kigali Serena Hotel, as the hotel has recently opened a new, enclosed, air-conditioned lounge, overlooking their swimming pool.

The lounge is the ideal location to relax, while away from the busy day. With the view of the swimming pool, the lounge offers comfortable sofas for seating and it is open every day.

Guests can relax to the sounds of great music, as the lounge provides the perfect setting to stay cool indoors.

"As you know this lounge has been under renovation, we are now done and everything is ready. We feel it’s now necessary at this point to let our customers know that they can now come to the lounge every evening of their choice to enjoy with other people,” Charles Muia, the Country Manager Serena Hotels, told The New Times.

Besides a spacious comfort area equipped with leather seats and TVs, the bistro in the completely refurbished lounge serves hot and cold drinks, snacks, fruits and meals in a menu that varies with the time.

Muia noted: "The renovation started a year ago and, it was not only the lounge but also a few other areas of the hotel: the guest rooms, reception and we have even created one more lounge at the bar side.”

"Basically we wanted to tell people that what they used to see covered is now uncovered and they can come in and enjoy themselves over the evenings,” he added.

In a separate room, guests can relax in peace and quiet, or get some work finished in preparation for a business appointment.

"The prices will not be different. The only difference is that this new lounge will be quieter because we have a lot of support from the other bar downstairs that will continue with its own activities,” Muia said.

He added "People, who would not want to sit in the open could come in this one and enjoy themselves over nights with cool music. We will have a band playing everyday in the lounge. Two days of the week we will have a piano playing and the other five days we will have a band playing.

Muia explained that the entire renovation activity of the lounge, reception and the guest rooms cost US$8 million.
