MUSANZE - The headmaster of Kabwende Primary School located in Musanze district, Clément Nkuriyingoma was, over the weekend, arrested for allegedly defiling his 14-year old student.

The headmaster is said to have lured the victim into his office, where the crime allegedly took place.

People became suspicious after the primary six pupil spent over an hour, with the headmaster, in a closed office, last Sunday, and alerted security officials.

In an interview, the victim said that the headmaster forced her to undress in return for Rwf20,000 and then defiled her, several times that when she left his office, she was walking with difficulty.

"On Friday, he asked me to come to school over the weekend to sort out my registration issues. When I entered the office, he closed the door and started undressing me, he forced me to have sex,” the girl alleged.

She was taken to Ruhengeri Hospital, for medical examination.

Police Spokesperson, Theos Badege, condemned the incident and said that the act is a shame given the fact that it happened during the month dedicated to fight such issues in society.

"We ask everyone to be vigilant, to report any suspicious behaviour which may lead to such crime,’’ Badege said.

The Head master denied defiling the girl.
