Rwandan companies that participated in the just-concluded trade fair say that they have benefited a lot from showcasing their products.

More than 10 Rwandan companies are among hundreds of firms from across the region that had their products and services on display at the Uganda International Trade Fair.

The one-week event held annually plays a leading role in facilitating trade and business exchange among participating countries.

"We have had an opportunity to show the market here the quality tea we produce and their response was very positive,” Fiona Ndoli, a Marketing officer with Rwanda Tea Company said during the closure of the trade fair, yesterday in Kampala.

Aimable Sandro, the Public Relations Officer of the Forum of Traditional Health Practitioners in Rwanda said that many of the visitors at his stand paid for services the forum offers, which includes; skin care and weight loss and gain management. 

"They were particularly interested in the rare medicinal herbs we use for massage and treatment,” Sandro said.

Another Rwandan exhibitor Mukabagire Chantal from the Agaseke Promotional Project in Kigali town said that she managed to make 300,000Uganda Shillings daily from the sell of peace baskets during the exhibition. 

Dan Mutezintare, the First Counselor at the Rwanda High Commission in Uganda who visited the traders at the fair encouraged the traders to establish contacts and a network to help market their products.
