APR coach Cliff Owour can’t wait to lead out his indomitable lions against his former side Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) at this year’s Zone 5 basketball Club Championship in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania.

The last time the two sides met was in the 2008 edition in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. On that occasion, APR thrashed the Kenyans 65-56 to lift their second regional title.

"Both sides have changed much since. From APR’s point of view, we are much stronger and I fancy our chances tomorrow,” the former Kenyan international said.

Meanwhile, Kigali Basketball Club (KBC)’s match with Urunani of Burundi was called off after some sort of misunderstanding with the Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF).

"Before making the trip to Tanzania, the Tanzania Basketball Federation promised to cater for our accommodation but on arrival, we were asked to pay $500 per day which is very confusing,” KBC president Freddy Makuza said in frustration.

By press time, the issue had been sorted out but it is yet to be known when the KBC vs Urunani game will be played.

In today’s other fixtures, KBC play against Ethiopia’s Water Sport, Kenya’s Cooperative bank entertain ABC of South Sudan while Savio face Vijana in all Tanzanian club contest.
