This quarterly product will have exclusive enterprise stories that highlight gaps in the journey to gender equality, and without leaving anyone’s voice out, room for constructive debate.

The new product has been introduced as part of the effort by The New Times to provide customised content curated from within and out of the country for our readers in a bid to inspire action.

In our first edition, we talk about the widely practiced but controversial tradition of labia elongation. We explore its history, its assumed benefits and concerns over children’s rights.

We also take you to Bugesera district where women are bridging the gender gap in the transport sector through cycling, and how to make the internet safe for women and girls.

'Beyond Talk' aims to inspire inclusion, to empower, and to start thought-provoking discussions to find sustainable solutions for gender-related challenges.

It is also the first of several other projects The New Times’ Gender Desk is working on as a contribution to already existing efforts to bridge the gender gap.
