AMAVUBI stand-in-coach Eric Nshimiyimana has kept his players guessing after declining to reveal his final 18-man squad yesterday. The team who depart for Porto Novo this evening aboard an Ethiopian airlines flight, wind up their 2012 Africa Nations Cup campaign this Saturday when they take on a gritty and restless Benin side.

The 38-year-old told Times Sport that it’s a precaution in case a player gets injured during the final training session this morning.

"I have already selected the team but I will only make it public after tomorrow’s training session just in case a player gets injured, the former Amavubi midfielder said yesterday.

It has however been confirmed that U-20 youngster Emery Bayisenge and Motema Pembe’s Bokota Labama will not make the trip. Bayisenge is injured while Bokota, one of seven professionals summoned for the qualifier, shunned the qualifier.

In Porto Novo, the wasps will be playing for pride after a dismal campaign which has left them at the foot of the Group (H) with three points out of a possible 16.

Benin and Burundi are on level points (four) while Ivory Coast tops the group with 16 points.

The Amavubi position fell vacant early this month when Sellas Tetteh resigned after a series of disappointing results that included a humiliating 5-0 home defeat to Ivory Coast.

Nshimiyimana, Rotamir Dujković and Jean Marie Ntagwabira are some of the candidates for the hot seat.

Tetteh’s replacement will be named shortly after the Benin qualifier.
