The fuel pump prices for premium super and diesel have decreased from Rwf 1,025 to 1,000 with effect from today.

Due to a volatile global increase in crude oil prices, since the beginning of the year, fuel prices increased several times.

"With effect from 1st October, the prices for super and diesel must not exceed Rwf 1000,” reads part of a statement from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The statement adds that the reduction of the pump prices reflects the current dynamics in international oil prices recorded last month.

As an oil importing country, Rwanda is affected by the fluctuation of the crude oil prices on the international market.
