FORMER Amavubi captain Olivier Karekezi has turned down a call-up to the national team claiming there are still some unresolved issues between him and interim coach Eric Nshimiyimana.

The 28-year-old striker, who seems to have rediscovered his form since re-uniting with APR, blames Nshimiyimana for influencing Tetteh not to consider him in previous national team engagements.

"I don’t want to join camp just for the sake of it. I still have some unfinished business with Nshimiyimana.”

"He is directly responsible for my not playing in previous matches,” a disgusted Karekezi said.

However, Nshimiyimana has rubbished those claims.

"I don’t know what he is talking about and I won’t waste any of my time on this issue,” he said.

The national side started camp on Monday but summoned APR players only linked up with the team yesterday while the professionals are expected early next week.
