Rwanda vs Senegal - 6pm

AFTER back to back defeats against Angola (59-67) and Cameroon (42-45), the national women basketball team have everything to play for when they clash with defending champions Senegal this afternoon.

The lady hoops got their 2011 Fiba-Africa Women championship off to a great start with a commanding 69-35 victory over Guinea but things have not gone their way since.

Rwanda’s assistant coach Charles Mbazumutima was angered by the team’s inability to kill off games.

Similar to the Cameroon match, Rwanda dominated the first half (32-23) but still let the game slip out of their hands after losing the last two quarters  15-25 and 10-19.

The team now has a tough task on their hands against ten-time African champions Senegal who still have a 100 per cent record after winning their opening three games.

Rwanda’s final group (B) game is against two-time champions Nigeria. Group A pits Tunisia against 2007 winners and hosts Mali, Ghana, DRC, Mozambique and Ivory Coast.
