Quality customer service will boost any business. The Newtimes / File.

Editor,

Allow me to thank your newspaper for continuously advocating for improvement of customer care.

As a nation that aspires to become a service based economy, it is imperative that businesses and organizations excel in customer care delivery.

I read in yesterday’s issue of The New Times, on Business page that poor customer care was threatening to hurt Rwanda’s lucrative tourism sector.

To turn things around, organizations should include, in their annual budgets, funds for training their staff. Excellent customer care, without doubt, attracts more clients, hence more profits.

The Government has encouraged public institutions and local leaders to improve on service delivery and this is already paying off.

The Public, too, should not keep quiet when they experience poor service. Through speaking out, service providers will be obliged to improve.
