FUADI Ndayisenga’s goal off a penalty kick handed Rayon Sport a 1-0 win over AS Kigali yesterday.

After a nervy opening, the Burundian midfielder broke the deadlock with a well taken penalty-kick on the 30th minute to send the packed Kigali Regional Stadium into wild celebrations.

The penalty was awarded after a foul on Rayon striker Papy Kamanzi and Ndayisenga made no mistake as he sent AS Kigali goalkeeper Emery Mvuyekure the wrong way.

After the break, AS Kigali pushed for an equaliser but could not break Rayon’s defense.

Innocent Habyarimana, Pablo Ndikumana and Bodo Ndikumana all made attempts on Rayon’s goal but Juma Mpongo was simply unbreakable.

At Mumena stadium, La Jeunesse recorded a 2-0 victory over visitors Marines to round off a fine weekend for the big guns.

On the opening day (Saturday), Police thrashed Amagaju 4-0; SC Kiyovu beat Nyanza 2-0 while defending champions APR battled to a 1-0 victory over Espoir.
