Editor,

THROUGH your paper I wish to congratulate the Kigali Bus Service (KBS) management on their effort to ease public transport in the City of Kigali.

The company has enabled us to properly manage our transport needs by introducing week or monthly cards. Their buses rotate around the whole town, including some residential neighbourhoods.

For instance, it had become increasingly difficult for one to board more than once after being dropped at the parking lot near Kigali Central prison.

As if that was not enough, KBS has lately added brand new and bigger state-of-the-art busses on their fleet. These buses could not have come at a better time considering that the increased number of passengers in Kigali, especially during peak hours, means that we do not only need more buses, but bigger and mechanically-sound ones as well.

The newly acquired buses can be relied upon.

Let me also say that the menace that characterised ‘Kwa Rubangura’ stage before a new public transport terminal was created outside the centre of the city is now a thing of the past. The new terminal also provides ample parking space for public buses.

We definitely need more and more buses! Congratulations KBS.
