I was surprised when I witnessed two drivers of Kigali Bus Services fight over passengers at the Kanombe bus stage near Kanombe Military Hospital on Tuesday.

It was a drama of sorts to passengers but equally a very shameful act. 

It all started as the duo drove to the stage. One of them who is in his early 40s seemed to strike using his bus with intent to kill or injure his counterpart. 

While passengers were eager to enjoy the morning ride to work, the two drivers were seriously in fighting mood in complete disregard of passengers.

The matter raged on until one of them was roughly shoved off the steering wheel and fell in between the doors.

What was shocking was the foul language used.

Meanwhile, the passengers remained stranded yet many had bought tickets while others had bought smart cards offered by the same company, only to be saved by another rival transport company also operating in the Kanombe area.

The drivers demonstrated absurdity of the highest form. I believe that KBS management minds its image. Its drivers should always jealously guard the good name the company has made since the start of its operations.

Otherwise, such bad apples would eventually wreck its good reputation. All in all, passengers interests should be above everything.
