The Rwanda High Commission in Kenya took part in the recently concluded East African Housing Exhibition held in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.

The expo was held at Sarit Centre, in Nairobi, from September 8 to 11.

In an e-mail, the minister consular at the Rwandan High Commission in Kenya, Yamina Karitanyi, noted that the real estate industry in the region, more specifically in Rwanda, has registered dramatic progress over the last few years, while the range of products, services and employment opportunities have diversified "to a great extent.”

According to Karitanyi, who is also in charge of trade and investment, the High Commission capitalised on the exhibition to share information on the general requirements for investors wishing to venture into Rwanda.

Karitanyi said: "With the rapid growth and development, there is an enhanced need for professional stakeholders in the housing industry to be informed about new products, services or developments that Rwanda has to offer”.

She added that they showcased some of the investment opportunities in the country’s housing sector, including land acquisition and availability, real estate development and infrastructural development.

Other opportunities, according to Karitanyi, include the company registration process, availability of raw materials, the Kigali City master plan and those of other provinces in the country.

She said the expo was well attended, especially in the first three days, observing that the Rwandan stand attracted many visitors.
