Bralirwa, the country’s main brewery company has committed Frw 130 million as sponsorship for the upcoming 2011/12 Primus National Football League season which kicks on September 17.

The company’s marketing manager Aline Asselot said in a statement Tuesday, "Bralirwa’s sponsorship for the last two seasons is bound to make this new season one of the most exciting in the history of Rwandan soccer.

In our commitment, we will continue developing a more elaborate sponsorship mechanism meant to engage the fans and the fan clubs in a way that should lift the standards of our football.”

With the opening of the new season barely a fortnight away, Bralirwa is in final talks with the football governing body, Ferwafa in order to release the first installment believed to be Frw 35,000,000.

"With the huge support of Rwf 130,000,000 committed by Bralirwa in this season alone, out of which 50 percent will go directly towards supporting the teams, we are confident that the new season will be very exciting”, Ferwafa’s CEO Jules Kalisa said.

Meanwhile, Bralirwa and Ferwafa are set to host all stakeholders of the local football fraternity to a party this Friday as a toast to the official start of a new season under Bralirwa’s 3 year sponsorship now on its last season.

The 2011/12 Primus national football league will kick off on September 17 with the season’s fixtures set to be released this weekend.
