Jacques Uwizeyimana, the Canadian-based Rwandan music promoter, has started a record label in Rwanda, dubbed Bridge Records Music Industry, to sign up talented artistes.

The record label has already signed some promising and talented artistes from different parts of the country including Tuff Gangs’ Bull Dog and Fireman, Abouba Star, Ciney and Young Grace, to boost their music career.

Despite the strategy, the producer known by his business name Jack Ross said that he believes in the media’s influence and urged entertainment journalists to join in to promote the local music scene.

Speaking to journalists, he observed that he is working with different radio stations to leverage the exposure of the music of the artistes to boost sales of their records.

"We have started with only a few artistes but in future, we intend to sign up other artistes,” Jack Ross said.

The record label was initially known as Bridge Records before Jack Ross bought it and changed the name to Bridge Records Music Industry, with the aim of mixing and mastering songs.

The studio will not only produce audios, but also videos, with experienced music producers MaRiVa, George Kabano and Junior on board.   

Meanwhile, the Bridge Records Music Industry has already recorded songs such as  ‘Adelphine’ by Knowles, ‘Mpa umwanya muri sena’ by Bably feat Pacson, ‘Mumparire’ by Jack B, ‘Kuki’ by Emmy and ‘Umupfumu uzwi’ by Jay Polly, ‘Ni wowe’ by Tom Close, and ‘Ikigusha’ by Young Grace featuring Knowles.

The modern record label is situated in Kanombe, a suburb of Kigali City, near the Kigali International Airport.

A resident of Edmonton City in Canada, Jack Ross, said that with a new studio in Kigali, Rwandan music fans should expect ‘hot songs’ soon.
