The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) will later this month deliver its verdict on cases involving four former cabinet ministers accused of involvement in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The ‘Government II’ trial involves; Justin Mugenzi (Trade), Casimir Bizimungu (Health), Prosper Mugiraneza, (Public Service) and Jérome Bicamumpaka (Foreign Affairs).

The ‘Government II’ trial involves; Justin Mugenzi (Trade), Casimir Bizimungu (Health), Prosper Mugiraneza, (Public Service) and Jérome Bicamumpaka (Foreign Affairs).
"The judgment will be delivered on September 30 this year,” Danford Mpumilwa, ICTR’s officer in Charge of Communications Unit told The New Times yesterday.
The quartet is charged with Genocide, conspiracy to commit Genocide, complicity in Genocide, direct and public incitement to commit Genocide, crimes against humanity (murder, extermination and rape) and war crimes.
The Trial Chamber presided over by Judge Khalida Rachid Khan, the ICTR President, has been drafting the judgment for the last three years.
The trial has been ongoing for eight years while the suspects have been in detention for 12 years. They were all arrested in 1999 from different countries.
