Even Callipso can sing

In one of Kigali’s famous recording studios, you will find this writing; “If you can talk, then you can sing, and if you can walk, then you can dance.” It sounds more of a heartening note at the first reading, but, sounds factual with time.

Callipso shows off his other talent of dancing / Net photo

In one of Kigali’s famous recording studios, you will find this writing; "If you can talk, then you can sing, and if you can walk, then you can dance.”

It sounds more of a heartening note at the first reading, but, sounds factual with time.

A telling example is of comedian Callipso, who recently pulled off his blankets and turned himself into an upcoming artist.

The City Radio comical presenter unleashed his first single, "Hip hop game” in 2010, from Kayitare Wayitare’s MCLO studios.

It was a surprise, because one could barely tell his other talents of singing or "rapping”. The song did not play anywhere on local radio though, (apart from his own show).

He has been making vigorous vocal practices, to outcompete the stars in the industry.

He has also switched to the locally popular style of afro-beat.

Callipso has some new songs like, "Abacyara…” a raga with a chorus that is like hip hop. It is playing on Rwanda Television.

Callipso’s mix of comedy in his songs makes them special according to MC Manzi, a local deejay.

"In his songs I love that part where he acts an old man, or an ugly chap knocking the camera… hmmmn!”

The Comedian who is also an accomplished party MC has vowed to take music to the ceiling; "Do not be surprised when I scoop the awards next time….”

He will not only scoop awards, but also inspire the many under-talents.
