THE national football federation (Ferwafa) and their German counterparts (DFB) have extended their partnership for another two years.

The two football governing bodies signed the extension contract on August 31 and it is expected to cover football development in different areas such as technical assistance, training camps, women football and football/culture club Rhineland-Palatinate.

The DFB head of international relations Markns Weidner told Times Sport yesterday that they are satisfied with the cooperation which exists between the two FAs, thus the need to continue with the assistance in developing football structures in Rwanda.

"Our aim is simply to offer support in developing grass root development. With the U-17 team qualifying for the Fifa World Cup is an accomplishment of our past cooperation,” he noted

On his part, Ferwafa boss Brig. Gen. Jean Bosco Kazura said, "We expect to gain a lot from this cooperation. Our focus will be mainly on the young players, who are the future of our Rwandan football.”

"Every aspect will go towards the development of football deep from the grassroots so as to be able to raise the level of four country’s football in a few years to come,” added Kazura.
