I totally agree with a study conducted by a local think tank, the institute of Research and Dialogue for Peace (IRDP) which indicated that Gacaca Courts have positively contributed to peaceful co-existence in a once totally divided society.

There is no justice system  in the world that is 100% perfect, but it goes without question, Gacaca has done its best and has greatly contributed to the reconciliation process of the Rwandan people.

It is understandable if a few mishaps happened, something that is expected in judicial processes, however, when I look at the achievements, they speak volumes and massively outweigh the weaknesses.

Gacaca courts united and reconciled people, the bitterness and vengeance which the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, left behind has been managed.
