Editor,

IT was very heartening to read a story in The New Times, August 26 by Emma Munyaneza titled: "Over 400 visually impaired acquire life skills.”

Kudos to Rwanda Union for the Blind (RUB) on their great program in training over 400 visually impaired citizens since its inception in the year 2000. The efforts by Donatilla Kanimba, Head of RUB, equally deserve praise.

The Government of Rwanda is always concerned about its citizens. Through various schemes, the visually impaired and other people living with disabilities can find their rightful place in society. There are also several private organisations and companies in Rwanda, who undertake CSR programs. Some of them, would be happy to assist RUB in their ongoing projects and activities.

Wishing RUB and the Masaka Resource Centre for the Blind continued success in their endeavours.
